Original Opening Date: 22nd February 1932

History

1932: 22nd February the Paramount Leeds opened with Rex O’Grady at the Wurlitzer.

1940: Theatre re-named Odeon.

1968: In September the theatre closed for splitting and the Wurlitzer was removed and sold to a buyer in High Wycombe who put it into storage.

1975: The Wurlitzer sold to George Cushing. Bob Ince installed the Wurlitzer at the Thursford Collection to the exact layout as it was in Leeds.

1976: Arnold Loxam officially opened the Thusrford Wurlitzer.

1979: An upright piano was attached and Quint & Tierce Blackpool couplers were unified. (Although never connected. The four 4’ stops of the solo act as the couplers)

1981: Robert Wolfe started as Resident Organist at Thursford.
